BACNET

BACnet (Building Automation and Control Networks) is an open data communication protocol developed by ASHRAE and maintained as an ISO/ANSI standard, widely used to integrate mechanical and electrical systems — including drives, chillers, air handlers, and building controllers — over a common network. The MS/TP variant runs over RS-485 twisted-pair wiring at selectable baud rates, making it cost-effective for daisy-chained field devices. Products carrying this tag include the Allen-Bradley 22-COMM-B RS-485-to-BACnet MS/TP communication adapter and the Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 23C series of 480V AC three-phase drives available in enclosure ratings from IP20/NEMA 1 through IP54/NEMA 12, spanning a broad range of current ratings suitable for HVAC and building automation applications.
