Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Basic (193-1EE) and Advanced (193-1EF, 592-1EF) E100 relays?
The Basic version (Cat. No. 193-1EE) supports Trip Class 10 and 20 with manual reset only and does not support accessory modules for ground fault, jam protection, or electronic remote reset. The Advanced version (Cat. No. 193-1EF, 592-1EF) supports Trip Class 10, 15, 20, and 30 with manual or automatic reset, and can connect accessory modules including the 193-1EGJ ground fault/jam module and the 193-1ERR electronic remote reset adapter.
What current ranges does the E100 relay support?
Adjustment ranges run from 0.1…0.5 A up to 160…800 A. The PDF lists a 5:1 current adjustment range. For applications above 100 A, the Advanced relay is used with external current transformers up to 800 A (Cat. No. 193-1EF_Z, ranges 30…150 A through 160…800 A), and the PDF states the external CT is required.
Does the E100 relay require external control power?
No. The E100 relay base unit does not require additional auxiliary control power. Its self-powered design uses low energy consumption electronic components, which minimizes temperature rise inside industrial control cabinets.
What protection functions does the E100 relay provide?
The E100 relay provides overload and phase loss protection on both the Basic and Advanced versions. The Advanced version (193-1EF, 592-1EF) also provides ground fault and jam protection when the 193-1EGJ universal protection module accessory is installed. Ground fault current detection is configurable from 0.02…5 A. Jam protection is configurable for current level from 125…600% FLA and delay from 0.1…10 seconds.
What trip classes and reset modes are available on the Advanced E100 relay?
The Advanced E100 relay (193-1EF, 592-1EF) supports Trip Class 10, 15, 20, and 30. It offers both manual and automatic reset modes. In automatic reset mode, reset occurs at 70% TCU when the accessory is powered, or after approximately 2 minutes when self-powered. Typical automatic reset times are 90 seconds for Class 10, 135 seconds for Class 15, 180 seconds for Class 20, and 270 seconds for Class 30.
What are the environmental limits for the E100 relay?
The E100 relay operates in ambient temperatures from -20…+65 °C in open installations and -20…+50 °C when enclosed. Storage temperature range is -40…+85 °C. The relay is rated for operating humidity of 5…95% noncondensing, vibration of 3 G, shock of 30 G, a maximum altitude of 2000 m, and Pollution Degree 3. Degree of protection is IP20 at the front of panel.
Which certifications does the E100 Electronic Overload Relay carry?
The E100 relay is cULus Listed (File No. E14840), CE Marked, and holds RCM, ABS, RINA, DNV/GL, CCC, KC, EAC, Morocco Regulatory Certification, and Environmental Protection Use Period 25 (China RoHS) certifications. It complies with CSA22.2 No. 60947-4-1, EN 60947-4-1, UL 60947-4-1, GB/T 14048.4-2010, SJ/T 11364, GB/T 26572, and SJ/Z 11388.
