Communication Protocols

Supported industrial networks and field buses for the products covered by this publication.

DeviceNet 193-EDN side-mount module provides integrated I/O (two inputs, 24V DC rated and module supplied; one B300-rated output), overload warning, jam protection, and underload warning. Provides access to average motor current, thermal capacity usage, device status, trip identification, and trip history. EtherNet/IP 193-ETN side-mount module supports I/O and explicit messaging for programmable automation controller access, predefined ControlLogix-style tags, and an integrated web server for browser-based monitoring and configuration. Uses SMTP to send email or text alerts on warning or trip conditions. PROFIBUS 193-EPRB side-mount module supports PROFIBUS DP-V0 and DP-V1. Provides overload warning, jam protection, underload warning, average motor current, thermal capacity usage, device status, and a five-trip history. Integrated I/O allows local termination of motor-related inputs and outputs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What current range does the E1 Plus Overload Relay cover?
The E1 Plus Overload Relay covers a rated current range of 0.1 to 45 A for Bulletin 193-ED devices and 0.1 to 800 A for Bulletin 193/592-EE devices, as stated in the product overview table.
What trip classes are available on the 193-EE devices?
The 193-EE (Type EE) devices offer selectable trip classes of 10, 15, 20, and 30, configured via front-accessible DIP switches. The 193-ED (Type ED) devices have a fixed trip class of 10.
How quickly does the E1 Plus respond to a phase loss condition?
A separate phase loss detection circuit is incorporated into the E1 Plus Overload Relay. Typical reaction time to a phase loss condition is 3 seconds.
What expansion modules can be added to the E1 Plus EE devices?
Optional side-mount expansion modules include the DeviceNet Communication Module (193-EDN), EtherNet/IP Module (193-ETN), PROFIBUS Module (193-EPRB), Jam/Remote Reset Module (193-EJM), Ground Fault Module (193-EGF), Ground Fault/Jam Module (193-EGJ), PTC Module (193-EPT), and Remote Reset Module (193-ERR). Only one module can be installed per device at a time.
What is the typical automatic reset time for 193-EE devices?
The typical reset time for 193-EE devices set to automatic reset mode is 120 seconds, as noted in the trip curves section of the document.
What ground fault trip levels are available with the 193-EGF module?
The 193-EGF Ground Fault Protection Module offers four selectable trip level ranges: 20 to 100 mA (resistive loads only), 100 to 500 mA, 0.2 to 1 A, and 1 to 5 A. Within each range, the specific trip level can be set at 20%, 35%, 50%, 65%, 80%, 90%, or 100% of the maximum ground fault setting. Trip delay is fixed at 50 ms ± 20 ms.
What is the Pass-thru option and how does it save panel space?
The E1 Plus Pass-thru is a mounting option that consumes 48% less panel space than a standard E1 Plus mounted in a panel mount adapter. It provides an integrated DIN Rail mount and panel mounting holes and does not require a separate panel mount adapter. It is intended for DIN Rail and panel mount applications, Bulletin 100-K mini contactors, external current transformers, and use with non Allen-Bradley contactors.
