MicroLogix 1000 Programmable Controllers — Technical Data

Family landing page for the Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1000 (Bulletin 1761) — a compact, fixed-I/O programmable controller for small standalone machines. The MicroLogix 1000 is a legacy product; for new designs Rockwell recommends the MicroLogix 1100 (1763), MicroLogix 1400 (1766), or Micro800 (2080) families. Full specifications will be added once an authoritative 1761-series datasheet is restored to the datasheet library.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the MicroLogix 1000 still available for new purchases?
The MicroLogix 1000 (Bulletin 1761) is a legacy / end-of-life product line. Rockwell Automation no longer manufactures the controllers, though surplus and reconditioned units are commonly available on the secondary market for spares and drop-in replacements. For new designs Rockwell recommends the MicroLogix 1100 (1763 bulletin), MicroLogix 1400 (1766 bulletin), or the current Micro800 family (2080 bulletin).
What migrates an existing MicroLogix 1000 program forward?
RSLogix 500 converts 1761 MicroLogix 1000 .RSS projects for use on MicroLogix 1100 or 1400 controllers in the same toolchain. Instruction-level compatibility is high within the MicroLogix family, though newer features (LCD keypad, embedded Ethernet, PTO/PWM on FET outputs) are only available on the newer controllers. For Micro800 migration, Connected Components Workbench provides a conversion utility, but expect ladder re-work because the execution model differs.
Can I still get 1761 accessories and cables?
Yes. Accessory products under the 1761- prefix — including 1761-CBL-HM02, 1761-CBL-AM00, 1761-CBL-PM02 programming cables, the 1761-NET-AIC Advanced Interface Converter, and the 1761-NET-ENI Ethernet bridge — remain supported and are documented in their own spec sheets. These same cables and interface modules also work with the newer MicroLogix 1200 and 1400 controllers.
