ControlNet Supported via 1734-ACNR, 1734-ACNRK. Deterministic and repeatable data delivery. Supports 25 direct connections and 5 rack connections. Up to 63 I/O modules per node. Requires Series C POINT I/O modules or later.
DeviceNet Supported via 1734-ADN, 1734-ADNK, 1734-ADNX, 1734-PDN, 1734-PDNK. Uses CIP for control, configuration, and data collection. Up to 63 I/O modules per node. 1734-ADNX provides an extended subnet connector.

How many I/O modules can be connected to a single POINT I/O communication adapter?
Each communication adapter supports a maximum of 63 I/O modules per node when expansion power supplies are used. Without expansion power, a single adapter directly supports 13 to 17 I/O modules with a maximum of 10 A field power.
What network protocols does the POINT I/O system support?
POINT I/O supports EtherNet/IP (via 1734-AENT/AENTR adapters), ControlNet (via 1734-ACNR), DeviceNet (via 1734-ADN, 1734-ADNX, 1734-PDN), PROFIBUS DP (via 1734-APB), and OPC/DDE data monitoring. All three NetLinx networks use the Common Industrial Protocol (CIP).
What is the maximum number of points per POINT I/O module?

Can POINT I/O modules be removed and inserted while the system is powered?
Yes. POINT I/O modules support Removal and Insertion Under Power (RIUP), and the system follows a No Tools design approach for assembly of the terminal base, RTB, and I/O module.
What is the absolute accuracy of the POINT I/O analog modules?
Analog input and output modules share a high accuracy rating of ±0.1% of full-scale accuracy at 25 °C (77 °F). This includes offset, gain, non-linearity, and repeatability error terms.
Can POINT I/O modules be mounted vertically without derating?
