RS 485

RS-485 is a balanced, differential serial communication standard defined by the TIA/EIA-485 specification, widely used in industrial environments for its noise immunity, multi-drop wiring capability, and ability to span long cable distances at moderate data rates. In the products carrying this tag, RS-485 serves primarily as the drive-side physical interface through which communication adapters translate DSI or native drive signals to higher-level open protocols — including EtherNet/IP, PROFIBUS DP, DeviceNet, BACnet MS/TP, and LonWorks. Typical examples include Allen-Bradley 22-COMM and 25-COMM series communication adapter modules used with PowerFlex 400 and PowerFlex 520 series AC drives, Allen-Bradley 23C series 480V AC drives with built-in RS-485 ports, and the 45MLA measuring light array controller.
