RS 232

RS-232 is a long-established serial communication standard defining point-to-point data exchange between two devices over a short-distance, single-ended serial link, typically using a 9-pin D-sub connector. Operating at relatively low speeds and limited cable lengths, it remains widely used for programming ports, HMI configuration, barcode scanners, and legacy device integration. Products carrying this attribute include Allen-Bradley 2080-SERIALISOL isolated serial plug-in modules for Micro800 controllers, 442L-ACRS232 SafeZone safety laser scanners with RS-232 cables, 1756-CP3 programming cables for the ControlLogix family, PanelView 800 touch HMIs, CompactLogix controllers such as the 1769-L30 and 1769-L31, and MicroLogix 1000 programming cables.
