SMC Flex / 3

The Allen-Bradley SMC Flex / SMC-50 (Bulletin 150) is a family of solid-state reduced-voltage motor controllers designed to provide soft-start, soft-stop, and protection functions for AC induction motors across a wide range of current ratings. Within the 276-product family, catalog numbers follow a structured format: the prefix 150- is followed by a series designator (C for enclosed SMC Flex, S for SMC-50 open or bypass-equipped controllers), a current rating code (e.g., 9A, 64A, 108A, 201A, 317A, 480A), a voltage/input code, and suffix characters indicating enclosure style, control voltage, and bypass configuration. Popular models include the 150-C9NBD (9 A, 480 V enclosed controller), the 150-SC1NBD (210 A SMC-50), and the 150-SD1NBD (361 A SMC-50), both rated 200–480 V. Optional modules such as the 150-SM2 add PTC, ground fault, and current feedback capability, while the 150-SM4 provides digital I/O expansion with four AC inputs and three relay outputs. Replacement power pole assemblies (150-SPP and 150-SPPC series) are also stocked for field serviceability.
